what exactly?

They have ‘Star League’ in the fucking name. There shouldn’t be room for other games. They should not be morphing into yet another Olympic-style marketing tour. It’s what excited me about the concept in the first place.

I guess I’m the idiot.

We are going to be included in Season 2 of the North American StarLeague. This is a partnership that will continue for the rest of the future.

Did that quote really just happen?

The partnership is one of the many big things we are currently working on. It’s the start of some great things. There are other things we are working to finalize right now. In the coming weeks, we’ll be announcing a lot of things that will turn a lot of heads. In regards to NASL and what they’ve done so far with StarCraft 2, I like what they’ve done with their streams and the goals that they have, and I thought that it really fits into the goals that HoN is striving towards as well. NASL, again, is just one of the things we are working on and it should become a good example of what we are doing to expand the current scene.

Blah blah blah.

If you like what they’ve done with their streams you haven’t been watching them. Or you’re paid to drink the kool-aid.

League of Legends is free. Sounds like Valve is going to be making similar bets with DotA2 as they have with Team Fortress and go free-to-play as well. Heroes of Newerth is $30. If your underlying business model isn’t agile enough to respond to that threat, if you’re not able to be nimble and respond to this, you’re kidding yourself that becoming a barnacle on the side of the North American Star League is going to push the needle at all within esports.

I’ll buy whoever can convince me this makes sense below a hat in their game of choice.
